Pond Skim at Seven Springs

Don’t miss the 7th Annual Pond Skim and Meltdown Party, Sat., March 28, 2009! Watch as participants try their best to skim not one but two ponds in their craziest costumes. Up to the challenge? Grab your skis or board and see if you can be the one to conquer the double dip pond.Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the skimming starts at 11 a.m. Participants must be 14 years of age or older. Tastefully designed costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded in first, second and third places for best skim, best splash, and best costume. Registration is $25 and provides each participant two fun-filled runs and a free t-shirt (first run is judged).
This year’s judges include KDKA’s Chief Meteorologist Jeff Verszyla, Meteorologists Erin Kienzle and Demetrius Ivory and Reporter Marcie Cipriani from WTAE, Chief Meteorologist Jim Burton from WJAC and WTAJ’s Chief Meteorologist Joe Murgo!
Enjoy additional festivities at the famous Foggy Goggle during the Meltdown Party! Entertainment will be provided by DJ Ron Allen from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and DJ Steve Lebo from 4 to 9 p.m.

On March 20 and 21, the Western Pennsylvania Ski Council and the Mon Valley Ski Club hosted the Spring Carnival at Seven Springs Resort, PA. The event included a Dance Contest, Children’s Snoopy Race, Flying Saucer Race and a Crazy Tubing Race. Here are a couple pictures from the event:
